ABSTRACT: In this study which aims to enlighten the tectonic properties of the Saimbeyli (Adana) region locating at the western pan. of Eastern Taurus,,, the character of stratigraphie sequences as well as the tectonic development of folds» faults and unconformities, show the visible and advanced structural events .fanned during Alpine orogenies,, llercinian Orogenic phase can only be seen, on the unconformity of Upper Pennian. This, indicates that there, was no erogenic event effect the area tectonically from Cambrian to the end of Lower Carboniferous. All the rock units in the investigated area were effected by Alpine orogenies and therefore several folds (N-S and NE-SW in direction),, overturned folds,, unconformities, faults» thrust faults and overlhrusts occured.
